The increase in cancer's incidence rate was fairly impersonal until a young, healthy individual close to me was affected. This sparked thought about how such a thing could have happened -- especially considering it's happening to healthy people around the globe. I concluded that the 2% annual increase in cancer rates must be due to a global lifestyle and industrial culture moving towards cancer-causing characteristics while public knowledge on these factors remained stagnant. The Cancer Prevention Education Foundation is an organization dedicated to public education on cancer prevention -- because a well informed population is significantly more likely to adopt a lifestyle that protects the body from cancer rather than making it more susceptible. We write articles, host webinars, and hold talks on numerous cancer prevention topics to fulfill this mission and fight the statistics.
